Canada Elections and Coffee
CoffeeCrew Blog: On a day like today... writes about Canada's election yesterday.
For our American friends just joining us – We had a Federal election yesterday. The Liberals (your Democrats) were booted out and the Conservatives (your Bush-Republicans) got in, albeit with a sqeaky victory.
Please tell me what's going on up there. Does this mean Canada will get rid of their national health care? Pull out of the global warming treaty?

Socialized health care stays for now. Most likely Harper will continue the Martin govt's policy of benign neglect toward Kyoto commitments. We'll become a lot closer to the Bush administration though, which will be good for the economy, good for the country, good for the continent, and good for the world.

good for Canada? good for the World? You will be much maligned and seen even more so as "America's retarded little cousin." Good luck getting your credibility back but am impressed that people voted for a change b/c of all the Scandals. Americans take note.

America's retarded little cousin...
Sorry - we still cringe when we are asked to join our more sophisticated neighbors to the South when it comes to dirty and illegal little wars..
I am sure even Stephen Harper (our new P.M.) will say no to your wars...
BTW: Our Northern Waters are our own and the U.S.A must ask before sailing through them... come on! show some respect.
